❤️ Why We Started Heart & Home Companion Care

Heart & Home Companion Care began long before we ever filed paperwork or opened our doors. It started in our own home, in the middle of one of the hardest experiences a family can go through.
Years ago, my dad — Jenna’s grandpa — was diagnosed with ALS. Watching someone you love lose their independence little by little changes you. We became his hands, his feet, his voice, his comfort. Some days were beautiful and full of connection; others were overwhelming and exhausting. But through it all, we learned something that would stay with us forever:
Nobody should have to navigate caregiving alone.
Those long nights, the constant worry, the planning, the questions — “Am I doing this right?” “Is he comfortable?” “What else can I do?” — all of it shaped our hearts and our purpose. Caring for my dad wasn’t easy, but it was a deeply human experience that taught us love at its most selfless and meaningful level. It taught us what true dignity looks like. It taught us what real support feels like. And it taught us the value of compassionate, reliable help inside the home.
Those lessons became the foundation of Heart & Home Companion Care.
We created this agency so families in Ventura County, Oxnard, Camarillo, Goleta, and Santa Barbara would have access to trusted, non-medical in-home care that is personal, consistent, and rooted in real-life experience — not just training.
We know what it means to trust someone with your parent or grandparent. We know the fear, the relief, the hopes, the guilt, and the love.We have lived it.
That’s why every caregiver we hire is chosen for their heart just as much as their skills. Every care plan is tailored to each client’s routines, history, and preferences. Whether it’s dementia care, Alzheimer’s support, companionship, meal prep, personal care, safety monitoring, or respite care so families can breathe again — we show up with compassion and respect every single time.
Our mission is simple:To bring comfort into the home, support families through every season, and honor the dignity of the people we care for.
This is our why — inspired by a father, a grandpa, and a family forever changed by ALS. And we’re honored to serve our community with the same love we gave him.
Welcome to Heart & Home Companion Care.Where care meets comfort — and you’re always treated like family.
